Former Member of Parliament (MP) of Rajshahi-4 (Bagmara) Abul Kalam Azad has been arrested in five cases. Then on Thursday afternoon, the police took him to the court. Later the court ordered to send him to Rajshahi Central Jail.

A former MP hit Kalam on the head with a bamboo when he was taken out of the court. But Kalam was saved as he was wearing a helmet. Later, the police quickly took him to the prison van.
Court Inspector of Rajshahi District Police. Aman Ullah said that in the afternoon former MP Abul Kalam Azad was produced in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Rajshahi. At that time, the judge of the court Saiful Islam ordered to send him to prison.
Earlier, RAB arrested him from Mirpur Sheorapara of the capital at around 8 pm on Wednesday. Later, a team of Bagmara police station brought him from Dhaka to Rajshahi on Thursday morning.
