The manager of BIWTC said that they are trying to bring down the vehicles stuck in the ferry. Kawsar Ahmed.

Meanwhile, the traders said that due to the 3-day delay, the raw material products of the traders are getting spoiled.

It got stuck at Rahmatkhali Char in Lakshmipur at 2.30 am on Tuesday. At high tide it rises to pasture.

Saidur Rahman, master of the ferry, said that 15 trucks, 2 pickups, 20 vehicles including a private car left from Ilisha Ghat in Bhola for Majuchaudhari Ghat in Laxmipur. At around 2:30 am, it went up mercilessly. As the barge was submerged in the tide, the ferry overturned. It was not possible to get down from that char even in three days.

A team led by BIWTC AGM (Marine) Ali Ahmed from Dhaka has come to Lakshmipur to rescue it.

Manager Kawsar said that ferry Dolonchapa of Bhola-Barisal route is being brought to the spot on Thursday afternoon. After this, an attempt will be made to unload the vehicles from the stuck ferry Begum Rokeya. It will reduce the load on the ferry. After that another ferry will be tried to rescue from Char.

On the other hand, due to inclement weather, the launch on that route was stopped on Wednesday. Another ferry crossing in the afternoon.
