In a case of Mohammadpur police station, Shakib, who became an MP in the last 12th National Assembly elections from Magura-1 constituency on Awami League ticket, has been accused. Shakib is worried about returning to the country in fear of being arrested in that case.
Sports advisor Asif Mahmood Sajib Bhuiyan said, Shakib is a player who has contributed a lot to the country. As he wants to play his last Test in Bangladesh, I personally want him to get the opportunity.
Promising to ensure Shakib's security when he comes to the country, the advisor said, we will definitely provide maximum security to one of our players. If there is a complaint against someone, that is a different matter. I can't say anything about that, because that is a matter for the Ministry of Law. We have already talked about the safety of Shakib Al Hasan, we will ensure that.
Shakib announced his retirement from T20I before the start of the Kanpur Test on India's tour last month. He announced that he will retire from white-clothes cricket after playing Test matches in the country this month.
Shakib said, 'I wish I could go and play in the country and feel safe. When it is necessary to come out of the country, I should not have any problem in coming out of the country.'
