Jumbangla Desk: Four teachers of Ranga Rayerkandi Government Primary School of Saltha Upazila of Faridpur have been dismissed as the allegations of certificate forgery, fraud, age and experience certificate fraud, concealment of employment information in profit-making institutions have been proved.

In 2020, the uproar started after the news about four teachers was published in various media. A case was filed in the district anti-corruption commission. The district primary education office also formed an inquiry committee on the matter.

It is known from the complaints received and the investigation committee report. Ranga Rayerkandi Government Primary School located in Saltha Upazila was appointed in 2008 along with three teachers with the help of the managing committee. At that time the school was private. Among the four candidates, Sabina Yasmin Nishi, Syed Mahmudul Hachan and Khadija Khanam were appointed as assistant teachers. All of them are relatives of Syed Nazmul Hossain, acting headmaster of the school. Among them, acting headmaster Syed Nazmul Hussain's cousin's wife is Khadija Begum, cousin is Syed Mahmudul Hachan and aunt is Sabina Yasmin.

After serving since 2008, the school became official in 2014. Various irregularities and corruption of these four working teachers came to light in 2020. When this was published in the media, the education office was shaken. Later, a departmental inquiry committee was formed from the Directorate of Education.

The investigation committee has learned that the head teacher Syed Nazmul Hossain has taken the job by falsifying his age and experience certificate while taking the job. Besides, he gave jobs to his three relatives through corruption. As per Rule-3 (b) and 3 (d) of the Government Servant Rules 2018, the investigation proved the allegations of misconduct and corruption, he was found guilty and dismissed from service.

Allegation against Syed Mahmudul Hasan, appointed as an assistant teacher, that he took the school job with false information despite working in a profitable project (a house and a farm). Besides, there are allegations of forgery of certificate information. He was also dismissed from the job as the inquiry committee proved the allegations against him.

Besides, there was a complaint against the assistant teacher Khadija Khanam, that she took the job by forging other people's certificate along with creating fake NID. As the allegations were proved in the investigation, he was asked to return all the money received as salary and allowance from the government to the government treasury along with dismissal from the job.

On the other hand, in the same complaint, the assistant teacher Sabina Yasmin Nishi has been dismissed from her job as well as the return of all money including salary and allowance to the government treasury.

Meanwhile, on August 3, 2023, when the corruption of the four teachers came to light, the Assistant Director of Anti-Corruption Commission, Faridpur, Sardar Abul Basar, filed a case. The case is currently ongoing. Attempts were made to contact the four dismissed teachers, but they could not be found.
