This information was informed in a press release sent by Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday (03 October).

In January 2012, Mominul Islam joined as the youngest (35 years old) managing director of a non-banking financial institution in Bangladesh. He served as Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Limited till January 2024

He previously served as Deputy Managing Director from August, 2008 to January, 2012 and Head of Operations and Technology from April, 2006 to July, 2008.

Mominul Islam also served as Head of Operational Risk, Projects and BCP and Head of Reengineering and Service Quality (Additional Charge) at Standard Chartered Bank from October, 2005 to March, 2006.

Worked in American Express Bank from May, 2001 to October, 2005, Reengineering and Projects, January, 2000 to May, 2001 as an officer in the remittance department of the same institution. Mominul Islam started his career as an officer in American Express Bank in Chittagong in 1999.


Mominul Islam Chairman of Association of Development Finance Institutes-Asia Pacific in 2023, Chairman of Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA) from 2020-22, Executive Committee Member of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC) from 2020 to 2023 Served as Currently he is the Vice Chairman of 'Adamya Foundation', a charity for employment and skill development for the physically challenged.

A talented person with outstanding achievements in education, MS with Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal in Economics from North South University in 2017, Bachelor of Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University in 1998, 20th in combined merit list from Jhenaidah Cadet College of Jessore Board in 1994. Higher Secondary Certificate and completed Secondary School Certificate in 1992 from Jhenaidah Cadet College as 2nd in combined merit list.

He was awarded various awards and distinctions at various times during his academic and career. Among them, he was selected as the 'Outstanding CEO of the Year' in 2020 at the Association of Development Finance Institute-Asia Pacific (ADFIAP) annual meeting in Muscat, Qatar.
