Jumbangla Desk: The Italian Embassy in Dhaka has taken several important steps including increasing the manpower of the consular branch in view of discussions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the aim of speedy disposal of visa applications that have accumulated for a long time.

This information was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday night.

According to the notification, more than 40,000 work-related visa applications are currently under consideration at the embassy. They have already started returning passports to individual applicants after completing all the procedures. Following this, the Italian Embassy in Dhaka has assured to return passports after deciding on a significant number of applications (at least 20,000) within the next two months.

However, according to the Italian Embassy, ​​all submitted documents must be specially checked to detect fake documents and prevent corruption. In addition to work, the number of visa applications submitted to the Italian embassy in the categories of study, business, tourism, family visa etc. is also increasing day by day.

The time required to issue a visa or the final decision on a visa and appeals thereof are governed solely by the applicable laws and regulations of Italy and the Embassy is bound to apply them. The Italian Embassy in Dhaka has promised to continue working with utmost sincerity by taking all necessary measures to solve this visa-related complication on a priority basis. In this regard, the cooperation of all, including the applicant, is highly desirable.
