Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh will soon sign a prisoner extradition agreement with Maldives and Qatar to exchange convicted citizens.

This decision was taken at the advisory council meeting held at the chief adviser's office on Thursday.

After the meeting, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, "If the extradition agreement is signed with Maldives and Qatar, we will be able to bring back the Bangladeshi citizens sentenced in the two countries and they will be able to complete their sentence in Bangladesh."

While briefing the journalists, he said, the Advisory Council has approved in principle the draft of the 'Agreement on the Extradition of Prisoners between the Government of Maldives and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh'.

The Advisory Council also approved the draft 'Sentenced Prisoner Exchange Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Government of Qatar'.
