International Desk: Today after almost five years, Iran's supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led Friday prayers. He made an important speech in the sermon.

Thousands of people gathered in Tehran to catch a glimpse of Khamenei and hear his speech. After about five years, he gave a sermon in Friday prayers.

Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet, reported this information on Friday.

Addressing the crowd, Khamenei said, 'Our enemy has taken the strategy of sowing the seeds of division and treason. They want Muslims to fight against each other. But they are the enemies of the Palestinians, the Lebanese, the Egyptians and the Iraqis—all of them. They are also enemies of the people of Yemen and Syria.

"Our enemy is one and the same," he said.

Khamenei also said that every country has the right to defend itself from the enemy.

Muslim countries "must build resistance against their common enemy", he said.

Khamenei opined that Hamas and more recently Israel launched ballistic missile attacks on southern Israel on October 7 for 'legitimate and legitimate' reasons.

"Every country, every citizen has the right to defend themselves against this ultimate tyrant," he added to the cheering crowd.

Khamenei said Iran 'will not sit idly by or rush to fulfill its responsibilities' in confronting Israel.

"Palestinians have a legal right to protect themselves," Khamenei said in Friday's sermon. They have the right to stand up against these criminals, these land grabbing forces. No court or international organization can blame the Palestinians for protecting their homeland.'

Earlier, it is known that Khamenei may shed light on Tehran's next plan after Iran's massive missile attack on Israel.

This is the first Friday sermon Khamenei has delivered in almost five years. Iran's supreme leader delivered the sermon three days before the one-year anniversary of the Hamas-Israeli war in Gaza.

He led Friday prayers at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla Mosque in the capital, Tehran.
