The Mitsubishi Bangladesh exhibition center located on Tejgaon Link Road in the capital was ready in advance for the new generation SUV 'Outlander Sport 2024' which has recently entered the country's market. After entering the exhibition center last Wednesday, two Outlander sports cars in gray and yellow were the first to be noticed among the crowd of other models. We hit the road with the Outlander Sport 2024 model car to continue. As it was afternoon, there was quite a lot of traffic on the road going back to the office. As soon as the car is started, the image of Outlander Sport appears on the display. As a result, all the information of the car is known on the 8 inch screen. The gear stick looks simple but has four options. Right after the gear stick is the parking button and the auto hold option. Behind the gear shifter are two cup holders. The driver and front passenger can comfortably rest their hands due to the wide range of hand rests. Below the hand rest is the chiller box. Four bottles of water can be chilled and drunk in this box. Many people call the consul box a freezer. The front of the gear stick has a wireless smartphone charging facility. It is very handy to charge your mobile while driving. But it does not have fast charging facility.
The sports car accelerates from zero to 70 kmph in just 6 seconds. All the doors are automatically closed when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km. Body roll is not felt from the front seats. However, body roll can be felt in the back seat. The cabin isn't completely soundproof, but outside noise is barely audible. Along with the larger axle, the front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam suspension provided comfort on the road.
1499 cc DOHC 16 valve Myvec technology engine, this car is also fuel efficient. The car with CVT transmission does not have a turbo engine and sports option is not available in the driving mode. The leather-wrapped steering wheel can be adjusted fore and aft and up and down according to the driver's convenience. Not only that, the steering wheel itself has the facility to receive phone calls, audio controls, cruise control and navigation. The seats are also wrapped in leather so long journeys won't feel too hot. The interior design is made in such a way that even sitting inside the car, one gets a full view of the exterior. The car has six airbags for safety. The brake response of the car was also quick.
Disc brakes are used on all four wheels. The rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) on both sides of the rear view glass when passing a car and the blind spot warning if a car approaches the line of sight has also worked well. With Anti Lock Braking System (ABS), EBD, Traction Control, ASC, AYC, Hillstart Assist (HCA), Emergency Stop Signal System (ESS) and ASC, any friend's path can easily be crossed. Not only that, the Active Yao Control feature makes for smooth driving even on slippery roads.
Sitting in the back seat of the car was quite nice. Because, the seat is slightly reclined and there is a wide legroom in front. As a result, people of six feet height can sit comfortably in the back seat. Since there is a hand rest between the two rear seats, you can sit comfortably in this car on a long journey. There are also USB and Type C ports for smartphone charging, along with separate AC vents for rear seat passengers.
The car has ample boot space for cargo, which can be doubled by changing the second-row seats. The interior of the car has auto dimming rear view mirror. Due to this technology, the slanting light of the rear car headlights will not affect the driver's vision during night travel. There is a rear seat belt warning. The dual zone air conditioner uses NanoX technology to provide pure cool air inside the car.
The car has parking sensors with rear view camera. While driving the Outlander Sport on broken roads, the wheels did not move. After dusk, blue ambient lights on the front row of the car's dashboard and two doors brightened the car's interior. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is available in White, Black, Grey, Red, Graphite Gray Metallic and Yellow colors in the domestic market. The price of the car is 49 lakh 50 thousand taka. Five years of after-sales service along with three free service facilities are also available.
