Jumbangla Desk: A police officer named Kazi Atiqur Rahman (36) was killed in a head-on collision between a pickup and a motorcycle in Sylhet.

The incident took place in Salutikar area of ​​Sylhet-Kompaniganj highway on Friday (October 4) evening. Deceased Atikur is working as sub-inspector in Industrial Police Sylhet region.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Acting (North) Mohammad Shahriar Alam confirmed the matter.

It is known that Atikur went to Goainghat police station on a motorcycle for official work. On his way back from there, his motorcycle collided with a speeding pickup in Salutikar area. Kazi Atikur died on the spot. Another policeman who was with him was injured.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Mohammad Shahriar Alam said that SI Kazi Atiqur Rahman, working in the Industrial Police, died in a collision between a pickup and a motorcycle. The body was recovered and sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy . The pickup driver fled immediately after the incident and the pickup was seized.
