Jumbangla Desk: Continuous heavy rains and landslides have flooded the border areas of Jhenaigati and Nalitabari upazilas of Sherpur district. The people along the border have become extremely helpless as their crops and their houses have been washed away by the flood waters. In this situation, the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) came forward with rescue activities and humanitarian assistance to the flood-affected border people.

On Friday (October 4), BGB members with the help of the local public rescued 850 flood victims and arranged shelters in a safe place near the BOP BOP. BGB has also distributed dry food (muri, chira, gur and banruti) and cooked dinner to the flood victims.

In the coming days, BGB will continue to provide such humanitarian assistance, especially rescue operations to flood victims, distribution of food and relief items and other necessary support.
