On October 1, a letter signed by Md. Hedayetul Islam Mondal, Deputy Secretary (Additional Duties) of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment (Employment Branch-2) was sent to the Director General of Manpower Employment and Training Bureau in Kakrail, according to ministry sources.

A copy of the instruction to stop the exit permit has been given to the private secretary of the adviser in charge of the Ministry of Labor, Local and Expatriate Welfare of Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, Libya.

The Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare mentioned in the letter given to BMET in the context of 'sending personnel to Libya in view of the ongoing political crisis and fragile law and order situation', the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya has informed through a letter that recently there have been cases of kidnapping and ransoming of Bangladeshis in various parts of Libya. With the help of IOM, 2,650 Bangladeshis who were trapped there, helpless and in danger and victims of abduction have already been sent back to the country. Taking into account the security crisis and the fragile situation, it has been decided not to issue temporary exit permits for sending workers from Bangladesh. The Ministry's letter requested the Director General of Manpower Employment and Training Bureau to take necessary measures to implement the Ministry's decision taking into consideration the security situation in Libya.

The owners of the recruiting agency involved in the manpower business in Libya for a long time told Naya Digant on the condition of anonymity that the Ministry of Labor of Libya has started issuing electronic visas (eVisa) for the first time since last October 1 by verifying the demand letters of the workers going to Libya. In the meantime, the officials of the Libyan Embassy in Dhaka told them (recruiting agency) that they expressed some disappointment after learning about the letter from the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya to the Expatriate Welfare Ministry regarding the withholding of exit permits for workers going to Libya. In response to a question, the owners of the agency said that the 2,650 tortured workers from Libya who asked to stop the exit permit in order to return to the country, those people did not go to Libya legally from Bangladesh. All of them were captured by the kidnappers after being caught by the broker. With them, the issue of workers leaving Bangladesh in a legal process is completely different.

They claim that it is now safe to legally go to Libya! Some of the responsible officials of our Bangladesh Embassy are appointed during the Awami League government. They alleged that they are now playing a key role in the implementation of the mission to keep the labor market closed.

It is to be noted that some of the officials of the airport managed the employees (body contract) and took the country of dreams to Dubai first. After staying there for 4-5 days, he took the opportunity to go to Benghazi, which is two hundred kilometers away from Tripoli. After that, the unfortunate Bangladeshis were locked in a room and called their relatives in the country to collect the ransom money. Those who pay are handed over by sea trawlers bound for Europe. In this way many Bangladeshis are buried in the sea. Those who were rescued in the operation of the coast guard of the joint forces were taken to the Libyan detention camp. While there, the defrauded and destitute are repatriated with the help of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Officials of the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya believe that these incidents are hindering the legitimate labor market.

The owners of the Bangladesh Embassy and Recruiting Agency in Libya believe that according to the new MoU agreement between the two countries, there is an opportunity to legally send workers to the country and bring remittances. However, since the fall of Gaddafi, the country has had two administrations. A Benghazi. Another in Tripoli.

Mirza Azam's mountain of wealth at home and abroad

Those involved in legitimate businesses in Libya claim that the law and order situation in Tripoli is currently improving. The agency has requested to investigate further on this matter and provide an opportunity to send workers to the country through a legitimate process.
