Burial of former President Badruddoza Chowdhury tomorrow in Srinagar, Munshiganj

Jumbangla Desk: Former President Professor Dr. AQM Badruddoja Chowdhury alias B Chowdhury has passed away (Innalillahi wa Innailaihi Rajiun).
She died on Friday at 3:15 pm while undergoing treatment at Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital established by herself.
Badruddoza Chowdhury's press secretary Jahangir Alam confirmed this information. Besides son Mahi B. Chowdhury confirmed his death by posting on his Facebook ID.
He was 94 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers.
Former President Professor Dr. A QM Badruddoza Chowdhury's first namaz funeral was held today Saturday (October 5) at 8 am at Uttara Mahila Medical College and Hospital.
The second funeral will be held at Baitul Atiq Jame Masjid, located on Road No. 8, Baridhara Diplomatic Area, Bad Johar.
He will be buried in the family graveyard tomorrow at 10 am in Srinagar stadium with third namaz and after fourth namaz at Majidpur Daihata in Bad Johar village.
Badruddoza Chowdhury was admitted to Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital on the morning of October 2 due to lung infection. That day his daughter Dr. Shayla Chowdhury said that her father was already suffering from ischemic heart disease.
94-year-old Badruddoza Chowdhury, who was admitted to this hospital due to multiple ailments earlier, was also suffering from various complications related to old age, according to his doctors.
Earlier, his son Mahi B Chowdhury had given the information about taking him on life support at night. He asked countrymen for prayers for his father.
Renowned physician and veteran politician Badruddoza Chowdhury was born on 1 November 1932 in Nanabari (famous 'Munsef Bari') in Comilla city.
His father Advocate Kofil Uddin Chowdhury was Vice-President of Krishak Praja Party, General Secretary of United Front and a member of the then East Pakistan Provincial Cabinet.
B. Chowdhury was an accomplished student. In 1947, he matriculated in the first division from the famous St. Gregory School in Dhaka with the second place in the merit list and passed ISC in the first division from Dhaka College in 1949. He received his MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in 1954-55.
Badruddoza Chowdhury received his medical training from Curfew and Edinburgh in London. He was first in the merit list in all the tests of life.
Dr. Badruddoza Chowdhury is an elected Fellow-FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians London, Edinburgh and Glasgow and (Honorary) FCPS of Bangladesh.
He is one of the country's top professors in pathology, expert physician and a record-breaking successful presenter of Bangladesh Television's (BTV) 'Your Doctor' program on pathology in the late sixties.
Professor Badruddoza Chowdhury, a successful parliamentarian, addressed the United Nations three times. He was a writer, essayist, playwright, presenter and orator. He is a Bangladesh Independence Awardee and the author of many books.
Mr. Chowdhury received the country's highest civilian award, the Independence Medal, in recognition of his contribution to politics and social development. He also won the Bangladesh Television Award as the best TV presenter in 1977.
He joined Chief Martial Law Administrator Ziaur Rahman's government as Health Advisor in 1977. Inspired by nationalist ideals, he joined the BNP in 1979 and entered politics as the founding general secretary of the party.
Badruddoza Chowdhury joined BNP in 1978 from being a doctor and became Rajni at the call of Ziaur Rahman. He became the founder general secretary of the party. He was the Deputy Prime Minister of Ziaur Rahman's government.
He was first elected Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Munshiganj in 1979 and served as a Cabinet Minister.
He was elected Member of Parliament for the second time in 1991 and became first Minister of Education and then Deputy Leader of Parliament. In 1996, he served as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament. He was finally re-elected as a Member of Parliament in 2001 and was the Foreign Minister of the BNP government from October to November of the same year.
Professor AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury was elected the twelfth President of Bangladesh on 14 November 2001. He resigned from the post of President on June 21, 2002 due to political reasons.
May 8, 2004 b. Chowdhury founded a political party called Alternative Bangladesh. He was the president of the party till his death.
Badruddoja Chowdhury's family consisted of wife Hasina Warda Chowdhury, two daughters and one son. His elder daughter Muna Chowdhury is a lawyer by profession, younger daughter Shayla Chowdhury is a doctor. She teaches at Uttara Mahila Medical College.
Badruddoja Chowdhury's only son Mahi B. Chowdhury, the leader of the alternative movement of Bangladesh. He was elected Member of Parliament three times from Munshiganj-1 Constituency.
