gmail blue tick

According to Google, the blue tick identification feature is part of Gmail's Brand Indicator for Message Identification (BIMI). BIMI facility has facility to display brand logo of any organization in e-mail. As a result, the recipient can confirm the identity of the sender by looking at the company's logo next to the e-mail address. Organizations that have BIMI facility enabled will automatically get a blue tick when they send an e-mail. The sender's identity, company domain and profile picture can be easily verified by tapping on the blue tick next to the e-mail sender's name.

In 2021, this feature was first opened to users of the web version of Gmail. Now the feature will be rolled out for the Gmail app as well. Blue tick feature may be added to Gmail app in next few weeks. Both personal and Google Workspace Gmail users can use this facility.

Incidentally, cybercriminals usually commit various types of fraud including malware attacks by sending fake e-mails. By clicking on the malicious link in the e-mail sent by them, malware enters the computer and steals information. And so if the blue tick facility is added to the Gmail app, you can stay safe from such cyber attacks.
