Sir Tim Berners-Lee, co-founder of the organization and father of the World Wide Web (WWW), has announced the closure of the World Wide Web Foundation, which works to provide affordable and secure internet for everyone around the world. Since its establishment in 2009, the non-profit organization has been working for the last 15 years to introduce affordable internet access in different parts of the world. When the World Wide Web Foundation started, only 20 percent of the world's population had access to the Internet. Currently, this number is about 70 percent.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the father of World Wide Web (WWW), which changed the world, said that he will not stop working on a secure web even if the activities of the World Wide Web Foundation are closed from September. Under this new plan, they will work with Rosemary Leith, co-founder of the World Wide Web Foundation, on solid protocols for users' online privacy and information security.

A campaign called '1 for 2' by the World Wide Web Foundation has also played a major role in setting standards for affordable internet access around the world. The '1 for 2' campaign says that the cost of 1 GB of mobile internet should not exceed 2 percent of a person's minimum monthly income. Following on from that successful campaign, the Alliance for Affordable Internet Forum is currently running the '1 for 5' campaign. The campaign aims to provide access to 5GB of Internet access within 2 percent of a person's minimum monthly income.
