According to factory workers and industrial police, workers of Irish Fashion Limited factory in Jirani area of ​​Gazipur metropolis came to work in the factory in the morning and gathered at the main gate. Later the workers started protesting demanding attendance bonus, tiffin bill and annual leave money. Later, around 9 am, they blocked the Chandra-Navinagar road near the factory. Traffic stopped on both sides of the road. As the road was closed for more than two hours, the people traveling on that road suffered a lot. After receiving the information, the industrial police came to the spot and tried to explain the workers and bring the situation under control.


According to the industrial police, workers of industrial factories in Chandra area of ​​Chandana Chowrasta, Bhogra, Itahata, Konabari and Kaliakair upazilas of Gazipur formed a group and joined the factory work in the morning. At this time, security measures were taken in front of various factories. Till 2:30 in the afternoon there was no report of labor unrest anywhere else in the district. Traffic is also normal on Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh highways.

Selina Akhter, a worker at the Itahata Digant sweater factory in the metropolis, said that there has been no problem in their factory so far. However, when there was trouble in the nearby factories, their factories were also declared closed. Now the situation is normal.

Abu Taleb, inspector of Gazipur industrial area, said that there was no report of worker dissatisfaction anywhere else in the district except for a factory in Jirani area. 8 factories in the district are still closed due to various reasons. Industrial Police is working for the overall security of industrial factories. Army and BGB patrolling continues.
