Jumbangla Desk: Expatriate welfare advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said, from now on expatriates will get VIP status at the airport. The contribution of expatriate workers in the socio-economic development of the country is very important.

He said this at a function organized at Vijay Ekatar Auditorium of Expatriate Welfare Ministry on Saturday (October 5).

A memorandum of collaboration signing ceremony was held between the Social Security Organization organized by the Ministry of Labor and the Wage Earners Welfare Board under the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment.

The expatriate welfare adviser said that our expatriates represent Bangladesh when they stay abroad. Everyone works as a flag of Bangladesh. Expatriates are playing a leading role in self-social development and activities besides playing a positive role in the country's economy. Their proper assessment, welfare protection of expatriate workers and their families must be ensured. In this regard, the Wage Earners Welfare Board under the Ministry of Foreign Employment is working relentlessly.


It was informed at the event that from January 1, 2020, it has been decided to bring all Bangladeshi workers who have gone legally to Malaysia under the Foreign Workers Compensation Scheme (FWCS). Bangladeshi workers will get medical benefits, temporary disability benefits, permanent disability benefits, dependent disability benefits, permanent benefits, constant attendance allowance, rehabilitation facility, etc. after being registered with the social security organization through the employing authority of Malaysia.

Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Ministry Secretary Md. Under the chairmanship of Ruhul Amin, Director General of Wage Earners Welfare Board Additional Secretary Md. signed the program on behalf of Ministry of Expatriate Welfare. Hamidur Rahman and Group Chip Executive Officer of Perks on behalf of Malaysia, Dato Sri Dr. Mohammad Azman Bni Mohammad.

The event was also attended by the members of PRICSO and delegation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General Consular and Welfare Shah Mohammad Tanveer Mansoor, Expatriate Welfare Adviser Private Secretary Sarwar Alam and senior officials of ministries, departments and agencies.
