Jumbangla Desk: Railway authorities have decided to run seven special passenger trains on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox's Bazar route during the Durga Puja holidays. Special trains will run from October 10 to October 13 along with regular two pairs of trains. The schedule has been published by the Railways.


Dhaka-Cox's Bazar

According to the information of Railways, this time due to Durga Puja holiday and weekend, the employees are getting three consecutive days of public holiday. At the end of the monsoon season, the arrival of winter in the tourist city of Cox's Bazar increases the number of tourists.


Along with this, due to the three consecutive days of holidays including the Durga Puja holiday, the passengers are submitting demand letters and applications to the main offices of the railways including the railway building for tickets for the night train from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar on October 10. Railways has taken steps to run special train services considering passenger demand.


Railway authorities said that the special train from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar will have 518 seats. However, there are 634 seats in the train from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka during the day. The train will leave Dhaka at 11 pm on October 10 and reach Cox's Bazar at 7:30 am the next day. The train will transport passengers to Cox's Bazar till 13th.


After that, from October 11 to October 13, it will leave Cox's Bazar at 1:40 PM and reach Dhaka's Kamalapur Station at 10:00 PM every day.


In this regard, the Chief Commercial Officer of Eastern Railway. Mahbubur Rahman said that Bangladesh Railway always operates trains keeping in mind passenger demand. It has been decided to run a total of seven special trains on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route in four days, prioritizing passenger demand due to the three-day consecutive holiday. As the distance is long, the passengers on the Dhaka to Cox's Bazar route are getting a safe and pleasant train journey.

 


On December 1, 2023, the inter-city train Cox's Bazar Express started passenger transport on Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka route. From January 1 of this year, another train, Tourist Express, started transporting passengers.
