Jumbangla Desk: The country's annual development program - ADP is full of various projects. After fish farming, khichuri cooking, after going abroad to learn grass farming, one such thing is to improve the nutrition of cows and get extra milk through the cultivation of high-quality raw grass (napier). The project costing 118 crore rupees was taken up without any scrutiny due to purely political considerations.

This project started three years ago to ensure the availability of fodder during calamities and is expected to be completed in December. Around 8 thousand 970 exhibition plots will be set up across the country within this period. However, only 27 percent of the money or 31 crore 52 lakh 17 thousand taka has been spent so far. Therefore, one more year has been requested as it was not completed on time.

Project Director Amjad Hossain Bhuiya told Channel 24 that the project could not be completed in three years, so one more year has been requested. However, the desire of the officials to go on a foreign trip has added a new dimension to the discussion.

According to the information, 32 officers want to go to Australia, Thailand and Vietnam for higher training in this grass cultivation. So that one hundred and three crore taka (3 crore 20 lakh taka) will be lost. But this grass has been cultivated in Bangladesh for many years. Therefore, analysts call the entire expenditure unreasonable.

Abdur Razzak, chairman of Research and Policy Integration for Development, told Channel 24 about this, "We have seen government officials go abroad due to projects, but soon after they arrived, they were posted elsewhere or retired." As a result, we did not get much benefit from it. For this reason, I think government officials should be more careful for training or traveling abroad.

And TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman says that a kind of mentality has been created in the bureaucracy that one has to go abroad at some opportunity. The purpose of going abroad is not training at all. Going abroad for grass production, mosquito killing training is just a name. The main point is that when he goes abroad, he is getting the benefits of pleasure travel with state money.

Can any other work be done without the obligatory bath?

The interim government has announced a ban on non-essential projects and release of money in the luxury sector. In that situation, the Ministry of Planning is also shocked.
