Jumbangla Desk: The court has sent former parliament member Sultan Mohammad Mansoor Ahmed to prison after being remanded in the case of the murder of Juba Dal leader Shamim.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Md. on Saturday (October 5). Sharifur Rahman gave this order.

Earlier, on this day, the police applied to produce the accused in the court and send him to jail. On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused applied for bail. After hearing both sides, the judge ordered to send Sultan Mansoor to prison.

He was detained from Shahjalal International Airport after returning home from Canada in the early hours of September 30. After that, he was arrested in the case of murder of Jubo Dal leader Shamim. On the same day, the court remanded Sultan Mansoor for five days.


It is known that this former member of parliament has been traveling to UK, USA and Canada for a long time. He was out of the country long before the student movement.

Sultan Mansoor was elected Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-2 constituency in the 2018 11th National Parliament Elections on the nomination of Jatiya Oikya Front.

It should be noted that in 1986, Sultan Mansoor was elected as the central president of Chhatra League. In 1989, he was elected VP of Daksur.
