Using the confidence of winning the Women's T20 World Cup after 10 years, Bangladesh showed a surprise with the ball in the second match. Nahida-Fahima bowled brilliantly to restrict England to 118 for 7. Bangladesh, who started the tournament by defeating Scotland, needed 119 runs to get their second straight win. But they couldn't even go to the triple digits of batting failure. Bangladesh stopped at 97 runs for 7 wickets.
England got off to a good start by winning the toss in Sharjah and batting first. They scored 47 runs in the opening pair in 6 overs of power play. This pair was broken by one more run. In the seventh over Rabeya Khan caught Maia Bushier (23) off Nahida Akhtar.

Ritu Moni took the second wicket by stumping Charlie Dean (4) in the last over. Sophie Eccleston hit the only six of the innings. He was unbeaten on 8 and Amy Jones on 12.
