Pakistan women's cricket team is playing T20 World Cup without salary. Besides, there is growing unrest within the Pakistan cricket team over the delay in announcement of players' monthly retainers, sponsorship shares and central contracts.

Despite being the fourth richest cricket board in the world, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) pays its women cricketers the lowest of all full member nations.

Sri Lankan women cricketers get $750 for playing a match. Women cricketers of Bangladesh earn 427 dollars for playing T20 matches and 854 dollars for playing ODI matches.

The previous central agreement between the PCB and the players had stipulated various benefits including salary hike. Apart from this, Pakistani players also get 3 percent of the logo sponsorship money, which the PCB earns from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

This year, Babar Azam is supposed to get about 10 lakh rupees per person from the income of ICC.

A PCB official told the media that the board has spent a lot of money on the renovation of three stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi for the ICC Champions Trophy. There are also other cricket-related expenses. Still, the players will be paid their dues this month.

The PCB is considering a new central contract with the cricketers till 2026. In the new contract, the remuneration of the players of this category is thought to be increased up to 20 lakh 70 thousand taka. Besides, the remuneration of B, C and D category players will also be increased.
