'There will be no mirror room, rice hotel in the detective office'

Jum-Bangla Desk: DMP Police Commissioner (Detective) Rezaul Karim Mallik said that there will be no mirror room, rice hotel in the DB office. He said these things in 'Meet the Press' after taking charge of DB. The event was organized at DMP's media center on Minto Road yesterday afternoon.

The DB chief said, no one will panic after hearing the name of the DB office.
Only criminals will fear DB. As long as I perform the duties of the DB head with justice, professionalism and integrity, the DB office will be a place of trust for the victims and the helpless.
Many police officials, including former DB chief Haroon Or Rashid and joint commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar, have been accused. They are still absconding.
In response to the question whether these officers will be brought under the law or not, the DB chief said, 'We will bring the police officers who are involved in crime under the law. Those who are absconding will be traced.'
He said, "We are investigating and arresting only those who are accused in the complaint. " When asked about the murder case of MP Anna, Rezaul Karim Mallik said that the investigation of all the cases will be completed.
A report will be submitted after a thorough investigation.
The Additional Commissioner of DB also said that any type of injustice will not be tolerated in the DB office. These professional officers have been posted in the DB office. In coordination with them, everything is being done to restructure the DB and bring back and shine the lost image.
The DB chief said, apart from conventional crimes, DB continues to deal with new challenges including juvenile crime, online gambling, cyber crime, economic crime, social media bullying, rumors with courage and professionalism.
He said that the policemen working in DB are working tirelessly day and night to fulfill the expectations of the people and continue to try to brighten their image.
He said, 'Dhaka Metropolitan Intelligence Office will not have any mirror room. Ending DB's tainted chapter is sanctifying it; Where people will get justice. No hero-heroine or celebrity hang out here. There will be no rice hotel. Whoever the accused is, he will get justice. Arrested accused will also not be tortured. Hearing the name of DB office no one will panic, only criminals will fear us.'
Referring to the police-journalist comrades, he said, 'If we work together, injustice-corruption will be reduced to a large extent in the country. I seek the cooperation of journalist brothers in making DB a place of public trust.'
In Meet the Press, he requested everyone to follow the law and rules and said, 'Dhaka is our beloved city. Please do not participate in any kind of criminal activities. DB is always by your side. At the same time, we wish for your cooperation. Trust us. We are determined to protect your safety and law and order in Dhaka city with our utmost professionalism.'
Addressing the citizens of the capital, he said, 'Autumn Durga Puja of the Hindu community will be held from October 8 to October 13. On the occasion of the puja, I wish everyone an advance autumn greeting. On the occasion of Durga Puja, flawless security measures have been taken in the Dhaka metropolitan area like the rest of the country. In every pujamandap of Dhaka city, security and puja festival along with police will be done by DB team in white clothes. So that the city dwellers can enjoy the festival. My humble request to you (city dwellers), do not participate in any kind of criminal activities. Everyone will obey the law and regulations. DB Police is always by your side. Trust us.'
