In the last 15 years, Dhaka North and South City Corporation has spent several crores of rupees to solve the waterlogging of the capital, but the situation has not improved. If it rains a little, most areas of Dhaka go under water. Meanwhile, the continuous rains have caused waterlogging along with the traffic congestion which has increased the suffering of the city dwellers manifold.

Waterlogging occurs. In many areas, sidewalks across the road have also sunk. Water entered the ground floor of many large commercial buildings in Motijheel.
Roads from Nayapaltan in the capital through Kakrail to Shantinagar are almost knee-deep in water. In between, waves caused by traffic are hitting sidewalks and shops. Mofizur Rahman, a pedestrian who came to that road, said that the whole road has accumulated knee-deep water.

Shakibur Rahman, the driver of the Anabil bus from Gulistan in the capital, said that heavy traffic has been created in the entire area from Gulistan to Paltan, Kakrail, Shantinagar, Abul Hotel, Rampura Bazar due to rain. Vehicles are moving very slowly due to waterlogging on various roads. Many roads are knee-deep in water, people and public transport are suffering a lot.
