Dispute over property: Father died after his son hit him with a stick

Jumbangla Desk: A father was killed by his son in Sonaimuri of Noakhali due to a dispute over property. This incident took place in Naotala village of Sonaimuri municipality of the upazila around 7 pm on Saturday. The boy is absconding after the incident.

Sonaimuri Police Station OC Md. Morshed Alam confirmed this information.

The deceased Abdus Sobhan (65) is the son of deceased Fazler Rahman of Naotla village of Sonaimuri municipality.

According to police and local sources, son Shahidullah (38) had an argument with his father Abdus Sobhan on Saturday evening over a property dispute. At one stage, the son injured the father by beating him with a stick. Immediate family members rescued him and admitted him to Sonaimuri Popular Hospital. He died at around 8 pm while undergoing treatment there.

The police also said that Sobhan's six daughters and two sons were killed. The little boy was electrocuted and died a few days ago. Eldest son Shahidullah is a rickshaw puller by profession. He beat his father once before. This time the father died while undergoing treatment due to serious injuries caused by his son.
