He spoke as the chief guest at the MoU signing ceremony with the Social Security Agency under the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia at Bijay-71 Auditorium of Pravasi Kalyan Bhawan on Saturday (October 5).

The expatriate welfare adviser said that the government is working on sending about 18 thousand workers who could not go to Malaysia due to ticket complications, besides opening the closed labor market in the country, creating equal opportunities for all recruiting agencies in Bangladesh to send workers to Malaysia and increasing the salaries of the workers.


Terming this agreement between the two countries as a historic milestone to ensure the protection and welfare of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia, he said, 'The contribution of expatriate workers to the socio-economic development of the country is very important. When our expatriates stay abroad, they represent Bangladesh. Everyone works as a flag of Bangladesh.

Asif Nazrul said that expatriates are playing a leading role in socio-economic development activities besides playing a positive role in the country's economy. Their proper assessment, welfare protection of expatriate workers and their families must be ensured.

He said that the Wage Earners Welfare Board under the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment is doing this work relentlessly.
