2 lakh Ansars in Pujamandap security across the country

Jumbangla Desk: During Durga Puja, more than 200,000 members of Ansar will be engaged in security in more than 32,000 places of worship across the country. They will carry out their duties in coordination with the Mandap Committee and other law enforcement officers.

Director General (DG) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud gave this information in a press briefing at the headquarters of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces in Khilgaon in the capital on Saturday (October 5) afternoon.

Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud said, 'A total of 92 teams of Battalion Ansars will work as a mobile striking force to deal with any emergency situation in 64 districts across the country. Each team will have six members. These striking force teams will take quick measures to coordinate security in all places of worship through regular security patrols from October 6 to 13.

Members of Ansar and VDP will play an active role in the overall security of the people, maintaining peace and order and providing emergency services while performing their duties. For the first time, the due allowances of the deployed members will be distributed immediately after the puja is over, which will help boost the motivation and morale of the Ansar and VDP members to carry out their important duties properly.

In view of the highest priority of maintaining law and order during the Autumn Durga Puja celebrations, leave for all members of the force, other than orthodox, is discouraged.

Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud expressed optimism that it will be possible to celebrate the autumn Durga Puja festival in an orderly and joyful atmosphere with everyone's collective efforts.

He urged all the citizens of the country to help maintain proper security by providing timely information to the law enforcement agencies at this time.
