Army Chief calls on Hindus to come forward to celebrate Durgo Festival

Jumbangla Desk: Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has called upon every Bangladeshi belonging to the Hindu religion to celebrate Sharid Durgotsav in a festive atmosphere with great enthusiasm. Besides, he said that by showing the cooperation and harmony of all other religions, the non-communal Hindus in Bangladesh will come forward to celebrate the Autumn Durgo Festival.
He made this call at the Dhakeshwari temple on Saturday while inspecting the security measures taken for the Durga Puja celebrations. During the visit, the army chief greeted all the Hindus on the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Bangladeshi Hindus. At this time, he exchanged views with the President of the Mahanagar Public Puja Committee and Bangladesh Puja Celebration Parishad and all other concerned.
The army chief said that according to the instructions of the interim government, the army has taken appropriate measures to ensure the safety of all during the celebration of the autumn festival of Hindus by keeping the law and order situation under control. As part of this, efforts are being made to ensure the security of places of worship by deploying the army in district to district across the country.
