During the raid, the owner of Ekta Traders, the egg trader in the city's chalk market, said. Zahid Hasan was fined 10 thousand taka.


Assistant Director of District Consumer Rights Protection Department. Sohel Sheikh said that the official price of each egg is 11 taka 87 paisa. But that shopkeeper was selling eggs at a price of 3 taka 13 paise more than that.


Besides, he could not show the receipt of purchase and sale of eggs. As a result, he was found guilty under Section 40 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act and fined 10,000 taka, which was collected immediately.

 

Later, a team of Consumer Rights Protection Department pulled the price list of eggs set by the government in the egg shops of various markets of Faridpur including Chawkbazar.
