Jumbangla Desk: The Bangladesh Poultry Association (BPA) has accused the Bangladesh Poultry Association (BPA) of grabbing Tk 280 crore in the last 20 days by increasing the price of eggs and chicks in the market.
Egg
In a press release on Saturday (October 5), the president of the organization made such a complaint. Suman Hawladar.
Allegedly, each egg is being charged more than 2 rupees in the market. As a result, daily profit of 4 crore eggs is more than 8 crore rupees. Thus, in the last 20 days, 160 crore rupees have been taken from the pockets of consumers. Again, the price of each chicken till September 15 was 30-35 rupees. But since September 16, the same baby is being sold at Tk 40-56.
And egg chicks are being sold at 70-80 taka. 3 million chicks of all types are produced every day. If each child is caught by Rs 20 more, the income is Rs 6 crore more per day. As a result, in the last 20 days, the companies are making an additional profit of Tk 120 crore by cheating the marginal farmers. In all, 280 crore rupees have been looted in the last 20 days.
According to the notification, the marginal farmer produces eggs and chicken, but cannot determine the price. The price is set by the corporate group and Tejgaon Egg Traders Association. Marginal farmers have to sell eggs and chicken at the price that is convenient for them. Farmers get a fair price when prices rise.
When downsizing is forced to withdraw from production due to loss by selling at a price below the cost of production. The volatility in the egg-poultry market is dominated by corporate groups and Tejgaon egg traders. They have repeatedly looted thousands of crores of rupees by syndicated in the market, but due to their not being punished, the instability in the market is increasing.
It also said that due to the strength of syndicates of corporate groups and associations, the same situation has to be repeated again and again. Instead of fixing the price of feed chicks, corporate groups have been given the opportunity to syndicate by fixing the price of eggs and chickens along with the syndicators of yesteryear.
Due to which the old syndicate has come up with its head. It is natural that there will be instability in the market. The prices of chicken and eggs were fixed on September 15. Where it is said, each egg can be sold at the producer level for 10.58 taka, which is supposed to be sold at 12 taka at the consumer level. But those with whom the price was determined did not sell eggs at the price set by the government. At each egg producer level, they fraudulently sell each egg at Tk 11.80 to Tk 12.50, which is selling at Tk 14-15 in the retail market.
