Israel said it is 'ready to respond' to attack Iran quickly after a ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv. US President Joe Biden has expressed support for Israel's response to the Iranian attack. During his visit to Damascus, Araghchi met with President Bashar al-Assad and the country's prime minister. Bashar al-Assad's regime is Iran's long-standing reliable ally in the Middle East. Iran-backed Hezbollah is also a close ally of Assad. Hizbollah has been receiving strong support from Iran for many years - both financially and militarily.

Originally in Syria, Aragchi visited Damascus to discuss the ongoing situation and bilateral relations with Syrian officials.

Aragchi said about the possible attack by Israel, 'Our reaction against any aggression by Israel will be stronger and tougher. They can test our will'.

Iran's top diplomat also said, "We held constructive talks with President Assad in Damascus and agreed to continue confronting Israeli aggression."

"The message of my visit to Damascus and Beirut is that Iran will stand by any Israeli aggression under any circumstances".

Iran fired at least 180 ballistic missiles at Israel last Tuesday (October 1) night. Most of them were destroyed in the air by US Central Command and Israeli forces. A few missiles managed to hit the target.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi visited Beirut on Friday. He has embarked on a series of tours in the Middle East when Iran and Hezbollah are counter-attacking against Israel.
