During the anti-discrimination student movement in Naogaon's Mahadevpur, a case has been registered against 148 Awami League leaders and activists, including former MP Chalim Uddin Tarafdar Salim, former upazila chairman Masudur Rahman Masud, and 148 activists of the Awami League and its affiliates, in connection with the attack on the students and the vandalism of motorcycles in the anti-government procession at the bus stand area on August 5. Another 300 to 350 unidentified people have been accused in this case.

On Friday, Anwar Hossain, son of Yunus Ali of Dimjaon village of Chandash UP, filed the case at Mahadevpur police station as the plaintiff. In the case, former MP Chalim Uddin Tarafdar Selim's nephew and Sadar UP chairman Syed Hasan Tarafdar Shakeel were arrested on the same day by the police.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Mahadevpur police station Hashmat Ali said that a case of sabotage has been filed against them in connection with the attack on students during the anti-discrimination student movement. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused.
