The normal pace of investigation is being disrupted by the change of investigation and supervisory officers. There are also allegations of non-cooperation by police officers already in charge in many cases. As a result, there has been apprehension about getting justice for the victim's families.

According to a source in charge of the police, it will take some time to speed up the investigation of old cases in the changed situation. In many cases the old officers (who were in charge before August 5) are not cooperating. It takes some time to settle the new responsibilities.

The law enforcement forces of the two countries arrested a total of nine people for their involvement in the murder. They are Shimul Bhuiyan, Tanveer, Celesti, Faisal, Mostafiz, Gas Babu and Mintu arrested in Bangladesh. Besides, Siam and Kasai Zahid are arrested in India.

After the change of government, the investigation officer of this important case, DB Wari Division Assistant Commissioner (AC) Mahfuzur Rahman has been transferred. A new investigation officer has been appointed. However, five months have passed since the murder, yet the DNA samples of Anar's family members have not been collected. As a result, the law-enforcement forces have not yet confirmed whether the fragmented parts of the recovered body are Anar's or not. Others involved in the murder are yet to be arrested.

In this regard, an official of the DB Wari department told Jugantar, since there has been a change, new IO, new officers - everyone is new. As such it takes a while to understand. He said that there is no significant progress in the case, the accused has not been arrested again.

Bailey Road fire case: On the night of February 29, 46 people died in a fire at the Green Cozy Cottage building on Bailey Road in the capital. In this incident, the police filed a case in the DMP's Ramna police station on the allegation of death due to negligence. At the beginning of the investigation, the police arrested four people. Later, the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police from March 7. The CID also arrested four people.

In the changed circumstances, there has been no progress in the investigation since the investigation officer of the case was changed. It is known that the investigating officer Inspector Masood Parvez has been transferred to Rajshahi range. At present, Inspector Shahjalal Munshi has been given responsibility. He also could not start the proceedings yet. Investigators say that since this is a sensitive matter, the proceedings will begin when the new chief (CID chief) arrives.
