Jumbangla Desk: Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus today (October 6) officially inaugurated the 'Senasdar Selection Board-2024' as the Chief Guest at the Army Headquarters.
In the valuable speech of the promotion board, the chief adviser welcomed everyone to the new Bangladesh, soaked in the student-people's revolution.
He remembered with deep respect all those who died in the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August. He also remembered all the brave soldiers of the armed forces and army martyrs who participated in the Great War of Independence, whose sacrifices the nation will always remember with respect.
The Chief Adviser directs the members of the Selection Board to emphasize professional competence, leadership qualities, standards of discipline, integrity, trustworthiness and loyalty and above all suitability for the job of the officers for promotion.
He also commented that officers with honesty, integrity and other leadership qualities deserve higher promotion. It also directs the selection for promotion of those officers who have succeeded in providing competent leadership in various activities of military life, irrespective of political ideology.
He said that Bangladesh Army stood by the people of the country at the time of crisis and saved the country from an unstable situation by expediting the process of forming an interim government.
As a result, Bangladesh Army has once again been recognized as a symbol of trust by the people of the country, he said in his valuable speech.
Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Special Assistant to Chief Adviser on Defense and National Integration Development, Chief of General Staff and Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Department welcomed the Honorable Chief Adviser on arrival at the venue.
The army chief expressed gratitude and thanks to the chief adviser for being present in the midst of busy schedule and inaugurating the election board.
The defense secretary was present along with the senior officers of the army in the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters election board. At the end of the ceremony Hon'ble Chief Adviser participated in a photo session with the army officers present and recorded his comments in the inspection book.-ISPR
