Lifestyle Desk: Trucks are always plying on Peach Road and various poems or verses are written on the trucks. The most popular of these is the 'horn OK please' sign, which can be seen on the back of all trucks. It is so popular that a Bollywood film was even made about it a few years back.

Horn ok please

Although there is no rule or requirement to write it, it can still be seen on the back of most trucks. But do you know why the back of the truck says 'Horn OK Please'? Now let's know in detail.

'Horn OK Please' means to sound the horn to warn before overtaking. That is, truck drivers honk their horns to overtake vehicles behind them. In the past, trucks didn't have side mirrors, so drivers had to write this word down so they could give the side to cars coming up behind.

But there are several reasons for writing 'OK' here. It is known that there was a severe shortage of diesel around the world during the Second World War. At that time, the truck's containers were filled with kerosene, a highly flammable substance.

Trucks would quickly catch fire if an accident occurred, which is why 'On Kerosene' was written to keep vehicles at a distance. which later became the word 'OK' as an abbreviation of On Kerosene.

Also, most of the roads in the past were not as wide as they are now, so there was a high risk of accidents while overtaking. As large trucks could not see the vehicles behind them, there was a bulb above the word 'OK' which the truck driver would light to signal the vehicle behind to proceed. This would have made it easier to overtake vehicles behind.
