Petrol

Can reduce engine performance and cause serious damage in the long run. But you can recognize real and fake petrol in some simple ways.

Check them out-

The smell of petrol
The first thing to notice is the smell of petrol. Real petrol has a strong smell. Due to the adulteration of other harmful substances in counterfeit petrol, its smell may be slightly different and lighter. If the smell of petrol seems different than normal, it is more likely to be fake.

By looking at the color of petrol,
you can also distinguish the original fake by looking at the color of petrol. Real petrol is light yellow in color or sometimes completely colorless. If the color of the petrol is dark or any other color it may be fake.

Test with water
You can test with water. For this, a small amount of petrol should be poured into some water. If it is genuine petrol it will float in water, but if it is fake it will mix with water or start changing colour.

Paper test
Another test can be done on paper. Take a few drops of petrol on a white paper and let it dry. Genuine petrol evaporates completely and leaves no residue. Fake petrol can leave an oil-like stain on the paper after drying.

Burning Test
You can do the burning test by putting a small amount of petrol in a metal container and trying to burn it. Real petrol will burn completely and produce white smoke. Fake petrol may emit black smoke while burning or may not burn completely.

Car performance
After filling the car with petrol, if it is the case that the car's performance is decreasing. Or if the engine stops occasionally, the mileage decreases or the engine heats up quickly, then you should understand that the petrol you are using is fake.
