Gazipur's Sreepur accused of inhumane torture. A mason named Israfil (24) died. A BNP leader was accused of stealing a battery from a mosque, after he was taken from his house and tied with ropes at the waist and hands and feet and poured hot water on his body.

He died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased Mason. Israfil (24) of Banshbari village of Gazipur union of the upazila. Nasir's son. He is a mason by profession.

Accused Md. Kamrul Hasan Liton (45) is the son of deceased Monir Uddin of Shailat village of the upazila. He served as joint general secretary of Gazipur Union BNP and general secretary of Ward No. 2 BNP.

The father of the deceased. Nasir complained and said that on the morning of September 13, accused Kamrul Hasan Liton and three others called my son from my house and tortured him on the school grounds. My son died after such inhuman torture. I want justice for my son's killers.

Sreepur police station officer in charge. Zainal Abedin said that a young man died in the torture incident. The case is being prepared in this case.
