Jumbo Bangla Desk: A shopkeeper named Abdul Karim Dhali alias Tunu Dhali (70) died after being beaten up by Jubo League workers for demanding money in Rampal area of Munshiganj Sadar. Since this incident, the accused Sonet Halder and his accomplices are absconding.
The incident took place in the area adjacent to Rampal NBM High School on Sunday (October 6) afternoon.
It is said that the deceased Tunu Dhali is the son of the deceased Zainal Dhali of the same area and a shopkeeper of the local Dhalagaon market.
According to local sources, neighbor Mosharraf Halder bought the rest of the household items from Karim Dhali's shop. But he did not pay the money owed for a long time. Karim Dhali went to Musharraf's house around 3 pm on Sunday and demanded money. Enraged by this, Musharraf, his nephew, identified Jubo League terrorist Sonnet Halder Gong, beat him with a stick and punched him inside their house. He fell to his death after coming home in serious condition. The accused fled before the police reached the spot after receiving the information.
Abdul Quader Dhali, the son of the deceased, said that 3-4 people, including the identified terrorist Sonnet, his uncle Mosharraf, beat his father to death. He demanded exemplary punishment for the killers.
Tried to contact Sonet Halder in this regard but he was not available.
Confirming the matter, Munshiganj Sadar Police Station OC Khalilur Rahman said that the police are trying to arrest those involved.
