Zoom-Bangla Desk: Khulshi police arrested Noor Rashid Chowdhury Ejaz (41), former member of parliament and whip Samshul Haque Chowdhury's Patia of Chittagong.

A special police team arrested him from a house in Chittagong's Khulshi on Saturday night. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulshi Police Station Mohammad Mojibur Rahman confirmed that he was sent to jail on Sunday (October 6) afternoon.

He said that he was arrested from Khulshi in a case on the requisition of Patia police station.

APS Ejaz's house was arrested in Ward No. 6 of Kusumpura Union of Patia Upazila. He is the son of deceased Abdul Malek Chowdhury of Harinkhain village of that area.

It is known that on July 18, Awami League and affiliated organization leaders attacked students and BNP leaders during the anti-discrimination student movement in Patia, Chittagong and vandalized and looted BNP offices.

In this incident, BNP leader Mohammad Ali Ahmed filed a case in Patia police station on August 20, naming 75 people and naming 75 others as the main accused, Patia's former MP and Whip Samshul Haque Chowdhury.

16 accused in that case was arrested Ejaz.
