Religion Desk: The father of Hazrat Ismail and Ishaq Alaihis Salam was Hazrat Ibrahim Alaihis Salam, the father of the Muslim nation. Hazrat Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was born in the family of Ishmael, the son of Ibrahim (peace be upon him). More than a hundred prophets were born in the lineage of Ishaq Alaihis Salam.

Yakub, the first son of Ishaq, was also a prophet. His other name was Israel. His descendants became known in history as Bani Israel or Children of Israel.

Prophet Hazrat Musa Alaihis Salam appeared in this family. As his followers came to be known as the Bani Israel Jews. They once followed the correct Asmani religion, but after the advent of Islam, all other Asmani religions were abolished. And Allah established Islam as the only chosen religion.

It is stated in the Holy Qur'an, 'Today I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you and have chosen Islam as your religion.' (Surat al-Maida, verse 3)

Musa Alaihis Salam was given the heavenly book Torah. In this book, the good news of Islam and the coming of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was given.

When Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called the people of Mecca to the path of Islam, the Jews knew about the truth of his call. But even after knowing the truth, they did not accept Islam. On the contrary, it was engaged in trying to resist Islam together with Quraysh. Allah Ta'ala has declared cursed Bani Israel (Jewish nation) who turn away from the truth despite knowing the truth.

The reason why Bani Israel cursed them is described in the hadith of the Qur'an.

Narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Ubaydah Radiyallahu Tayala Anhu. He said, The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "Iniquity began among the Children of Israel in such a way that when a man saw his (Muslim) brother indulging in iniquity, he forbade him." But the next day he would not forbid him when he found him indulging in wickedness, but would associate with him and drink with him.

As a result, Allah Ta'ala killed each other's hearts. About them he sent down verses in the Qur'an Majid. He said, "Those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel were cursed by David and Jesus, son of Maryam. That is because they were disobedient and trespassers.

They didn't stop each other from doing the dirty work they did. What they used to do was so bad. You will find many of them making friends with the infidels. Allah is angry with them because of how bad their deeds are. Their punishment will be permanent. Had they believed in Allah, the Prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not have accepted them as friends. But many of them are apostates.' (Surah al-Maida, (5), verses, 78-81).

Rabi (the narrator of the hadith) said, The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, was reclining. He sat straight and said, no! You will take the wrongdoer by the hand and force him to stand on the truth. (Ibn Majah, Hadith, 4006)
