30 shops have been burnt in the fire in the ink market of Narayanganj

The fire incident took place in the street number one of the market at 11:30 pm on Sunday.

Fakhar Uddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that a spice shop first caught fire in the number one street of the market. After that, the fire spread to at least 30 shops, including grocery shops, egg shops, plastic shops and hardware shops. Five units of Mandalpara and Hajiganj stations of fire service started extinguishing the fire.


He said that there was no casualty in the fire. However, a fire service worker was injured while trying to extinguish the fire.

The fire service official also said that the cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be known after the investigation.
