Jum-Bangla Desk: The Islamic service organization As-Sunnah Foundation organized a special round table meeting on the flood situation. The meeting was held at Beam Auditorium in New Escaton. In the meeting, Sheikh Ahmadullah, chairman of the organization, presented a presentation on the relief activities of As-Sunnah Foundation during the flood of 2024. He also sought advice from experts participating in the meeting about what As-Sunnah Foundation should do in the flood.

Toufiqul Islam, Dr. Muhammad Masud, Arif Chowdhury, Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Hossain and others. General Secretary Sabbir Ahmad discussed about the role of As-Sunnah Foundation in various disasters. Mahmudul Hasan Sohag, chairman of the different group, hosted the event.
Barisal University Coastal Studies and Disaster Management Department Chairman Dr. Hafiz Ashraful Haque (Shahbaz) said that As-Sunnah Foundation can send warning voice messages to the affected areas before the disaster with the help of technology. Besides, he suggested distribution of solar panels on a large scale to meet the demand of electricity after the disaster. Dr. Md. Shariful Islam said that people's houses are different depending on the region. Therefore, he advised to construct houses according to the needs of the victims in terms of rehabilitation. Sardar Uday Raihan, Executive Engineer of Water Development Board, suggested using mosque microphones at the local level to sensitize the public on flood preparedness.
Dr. Abu Reza Md. Taufiqul Islam said, As-Sunnah Foundation can develop special workforce and train them. Accurate flood forecasting can reduce property damage by eight times. Also, the negotiators advised As-Sunnah Foundation to create awareness about building houses and structures according to the plan, restore occupied canals through imams of mosques, teachers and conscious citizens, take adequate training measures for students of schools and madrassas in flood-prone areas, and create a special app for farmers in flood-prone areas.
