Jumbangla Desk: 2 lakh 31 thousand 840 pieces of chicken eggs imported from India came through the Benapole land port of Jessore to prevent the increase in the price of eggs in the market. The third shipment of chicken eggs has arrived from India in view of the government's announcement to import 50 lakh eggs to curb price hike.

These eggs were imported through Jessore's Benapole land port on Sunday afternoon. Masudur Rahman, Revenue Officer of Checkpost Cargo Branch of Benapole Customs confirmed this information and said that the eggs will be released as soon as possible after the inspection.
It is known that the invoice value of imported 104 packages of eggs is 9 thousand 969 dollars. A dozen eggs cost $0.56. Accordingly, the price of each egg in Bangladeshi taka is about 5 taka 70 paisa. Apart from this, one taka 83 paisa will be added for customs duty of 33% on the fixed price of each dozen eggs. All in all, the import price of each egg stands at about 7 and a half rupees.
A company named Hydro Land Solutions of Dhaka has imported two lakh 31 thousand 840 pieces of eggs in this shipment. These eggs have been exported by a company called Shree Lakshmi Enterprises in India.
C&F agent Ratul International has filed the papers at Benapole Customs House to clear the consignment of eggs on behalf of the importer.
Benapole Animal Husbandry Department official Dr. Vinay Krishna Mandal said about the egg testing, the documents of the concerned importer have been received. There is no egg testing equipment here. Clearance of eggs will be given from here based on Indian certificate. Moreover, if there is any visible problem, it will be looked into.
Letter for withdrawal of buses and minibuses more than 20 years old
Benapole Customs House Deputy Commissioner Othello Chowdhury said the consignment of eggs entered Benapole port today. There is a 33% customs VAT-tax on egg imports.
