Scientists discovered the world's deepest freshwater cave in 2016. Haranis Abyss is the deepest freshwater cave in the world. Cave location in Czech Republic. Geologists believe that it extends over an area of more than a kilometer below the earth's surface. Scientists have been interested in knowing the nature and chemical composition of this freshwater cave for several years. A scientific expedition was recently conducted for that purpose.

Haranis Abyss

It is generally believed that all deep caves are naturally open from the bottom and filled with acidic water. Opposite this concept lies the deepest cave. Scientists have attempted to delve deeper into this freshwater cave numerous times since its discovery in 2016. They are trying to know the inner natural state in various ways.

A submarine was sent there in 2020. The vehicle could go to a maximum depth of 1,553 feet. According to the study, scientists are seeing that there is a curved cavity with a small lake under this freshwater cave. The underwater part of the cave is like a cylinder. The water temperature in this cave ranges from 58 to 66 degrees Fahrenheit at different times of the year.

Scientists believe that this cave was formed between 1.4 million and 1.6 million years ago. Recently, explorers are trying to reach the bottom of the world's deepest freshwater cave. The bottom has not yet been found in depth. Haranis Abyss is located in Moravia, Czech Republic. Researchers believe that this cave is deeper than it was thought. An underwater robot called the Death Star was sent, but the bottom was not found. Geologist Michael Gersall said that the gas that is seen from the water in this cave is carbon dioxide.
Apart from this, small amount of helium is also present. The presence of these elements is seen because this water is coming from the upper part of the Earth's mantle. Fresh water has been found from very deep in this cave. Below is a narrower passage that we have no access to. We cannot even imagine such depth. The expedition was conducted to find the last boundary of the cave and to know the details of the abyss.
