Jumbangla Desk: BUET student Abrar Fahad was killed in brutal torture by Chhatra League in 2019. Today Monday (October 7) is his fifth martyrdom anniversary. Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced a new program on this occasion.

Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nashir Uddin Nashir announced this program yesterday Sunday (October 6).

According to the program, Chhatra Dal will hold a silent march and memorial meeting in various university and college campuses of the country on Monday (October 7) to demand a democratic campus for safe and free intellectual practice.

It is to be noted that on October 7, 2019, the police recovered Abrar's body from the ground floor of Sher-e-Bangla Hall in BUET. Footage from a closed-circuit camera on the second floor of the residence hall shows some students dragging Abrar down a corridor by his arms and legs.

Earlier, he was beaten to death by some leaders of BUET branch Chhatra League. Later, the matter came up in the post-mortem report.
