Since the formation of the interim government, the bank accounts of the top leaders of Awami League as well as various individuals and institutions related to the financial sector have been seized and information sought. Now the name of the discussed summit group has been added to that list.

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) ordered the seizure of Summit Group chairman Mohammad Aziz Khan's bank account in a letter to the banks on Sunday (October 6). The order is issued for 30 days under Section 23(1)(c) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2012.

A senior official of BFIU said that bank account information of 11 family members including the chairman of the organization has also been sought.

The names of these 11 are- Mohammad Aziz Khan, Mohammad Faisal Karim Khan, Anjuman Aziz Khan, Ayesha Aziz Khan, Adiba Aziz Khan, Zafar Uddin Khan, Mohammad Latif Uddin Khan, Mohammad Farid Uddin Khan, Salman Khan, Colonel (Retd) Farooq. eat


It is known that earlier the National Board of Revenue (NBR) wrote to Joint Stock to suspend the transfer of ownership of 7 companies including Summit.

In the letter, NBR has requested to suspend the transfer of shares (buying and selling and donating) of the companies. Under Section 223 of the I-tax Act, 2023, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) reserves the power to take necessary measures such as interim freezing of properties or measures to curb tax evasion.
