Earlier, five people died and one woman is missing in Nalitabari upazila of the district due to drowning in flood water. On the other hand, the melted body of an unidentified ethnic minority woman was found floating in the flood water in Sandhyakura area of ​​Jhenaigati upazila.

Humayun Kabir, Additional Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Department, agriculturist Humayun Kabir said, this time Ropa Aman has been cultivated in 93 thousand 708 hectares of land. Among them, 32 thousand 118 hectares of Ropa Aman paddy have been completely submerged and 14 thousand 672 hectares of Ropa Aman have been partially submerged due to floods caused by heavy rains and landslides. 2 thousand 63 hectares of vegetables have been cultivated in the district. Out of this, 396 hectares were completely submerged in flood water and 663 hectares were partially submerged. 6 lakh 93 thousand 618 sacks of ginger have been cultivated in the district. 4 lakh 69 thousand 194 sacks were affected by flood. A total of 1 lakh 72 thousand 630 farmers have been affected by the flood.
