In Nishanbari area of ​​Kalatia Union of Keraniganj, hundreds of families are trapped in water. Due to the lack of water drainage system, this waterlogging is being created.

On Friday afternoon, the surface was seen, knee-deep water in someone's living room, water in someone's stove, someone's tubewell submerged in water.

Farmer Narayan Chandra Mondal said that the canal which is there for draining water in the area is being filled up, causing disruption in water drainage. As a result, when it rains a little, water enters the house.

Locals said that as a result of continuous rains, houses, crop fields and seedbeds were submerged in water. Water is rising in hundreds of houses in the village. The entire area was submerged in an hour of rain.

Manik, a local resident, said that the main mouth of the Nishanbari canal is full and the water cannot move. When it rains, water enters the house. Due to accumulation of water, the people living in villages who depend on agriculture are suffering. Water drainage should be provided to reduce suffering.

Keraniganj upazila executive officer Rinat Fauzia said, I am not aware of the matter. The waterlogged area will be inspected quickly and action will be taken.
