Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Moinul Islam said that there is no fear of any militant attack during the upcoming Autumn Durga Puja. However, all law enforcement agencies are on alert.

He said this in response to a question from journalists after inspecting the 'Autumn Durga Puja security system' at Dhakeshwari temple in the capital on Monday afternoon.

IGP said, We always review the risk. There are no security concerns regarding the risk, but we still want to be cautious. This is an extra precaution so that no one can take advantage. There is no room for any kind of chaos and inactivity.

He said, Ansar has been deployed in important puja mandaps. Ansar will be deployed in all puja mandap from tomorrow Tuesday. Other police patrols and striking forces will be deployed. Armed forces are now deployed in all districts to maintain law and order. They will also perform puja duty.

Besides, BGB in border areas, Coast Guard in coastal areas, Naval Police in naval areas are performing security duties.

The police chief warned that if anyone disturbs peace and order in any place of worship, action will be taken immediately.

Each puja mandap has sufficient number of Ansar forces along with volunteer force, also working 24 hours. So there is no scope for any chaotic inactivity anywhere.

Stating that cyber monitoring has been strengthened, the IGP said, cyber patrolling arrangements have been put in place. So that no one can spread false propaganda and rumors on social media. Also, you can get quick service by calling the National Emergency Service-999 number. Apart from this there is a system of National Telecommunication Center (NTMC).

He also said that control rooms have been launched in each upazila, district and police headquarters. So that anyone can inform immediately.
