Not only today, Farhad will never be physically present in the class. However, Farhad returned to class with pictures and memories of his friends. Hriday Tarua, a student of history department, was shot in Chittagong city during the quota reform movement on July 18 in the anti-discrimination movement. He later died on July 23 while undergoing treatment. On the other hand, the student of the same department was killed in the movement to overthrow the government on August 4. Farhad Hossain. Hriday was a third and Farhad second year student of that department. The absence of these two students is especially felt by the teachers and students of the department after the new opening of the university.


Sohail Uddin, a friend of Shahid Hriday Taruya, said, 'We have all started classes, but our friend Taruya will never return to class. If he were alive today, he might have returned to class with a smile on his face like before. Tarua is our pride. He will live among us. He was with us today with pictures and flowers. I will take steps to keep his memory alive.'


Shaheed Farhad Hossain's friend Hasibul Hasan Babu said, "Farhad used to take classes on the first row bench regularly. Always busy with studies. He was never absent from class without any reason. But from today he is absent forever. Yet he will be with us. In memory of Farhad, we had class today by placing his picture on the front bench. In this way, we will keep Shaheed Farhad and Shaheed Tarua Bhai alive through various activities.


Shamima Haider, president of the history department, said, "The history department will remember Hridoy and Farhad for the rest of their lives. In their memory, a video documentary was shown at the Navin Baran ceremony. These two martyrs have also been included in the new syllabus.'

On October 6, classes started in Chittagong University after being closed for three months. The campus was closed during these periods of popular upheaval from teachers' movement, quota reform movement. Students and teachers were excited to return to the campus after a long time. Separately, 48 departments and 6 institutes have admitted the graduating class of 2023-24 academic year. Simultaneously, classes and examination activities of different years also started.
